Infant found after explosion released from hospital

An infant who firefighters found in a pile of rubble after a Victoria home exploded Wednesday has been released from the University Hospital in San Antonio, officials said.

Firefighters found Parker Singer, born Jan. 8, within 15 minutes. She was taken to a DeTar hospital and then transferred to University Hospital in San Antonio.

Her mother, 26-year-old Haley Singer, died in the explosion.

Singer's autopsy results have not come in, Fire Marshal Ron Pray said Friday as he continued to investigate the cause of the explosion.

The home, 801 Whispering Oak Drive, exploded about 7:15 a.m., damaging at least 12 other homes in the vicinity and forcing the evacuation of neighbors.
