A 6-year-old boy was treated and released from Citizens Medical Center after a Friday afternoon wreck in the 2800 block of Odem Street.

The boy, Alizar Barraza, suffered a cut to his head.

He and another child were not in safety seats, Victoria Police officer Anthony Vaccaro said.

The driver, Juan Estrada, 34, of Victoria, was cited for not restraining the children and driving without a license.

Estrada was traveling along the street about 4:30 p.m. when he became distracted, left his lane and struck a tree head on.

Estrada and his other passengers - a 5-year-old child and a man - were not hurt.
