It’ll be nothin’ but a good time the second weekend in October at the Gonzales Thunder Rally. Bret Michaels, frontman for the rock band Poison and star of VH1’s reality show “Rock of Love,” will headline the event.

Known for such hits as “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Every Rose has its Thorn,” Poison has sold over 25 million records and had 15 Top 40 singles.

Although Michaels has led the band for the past 20 years, he has also worked on various solo projects, including an album which is slated to be released this fall, according to his official Web page. He has also previously released two other solo albums, “Songs of Life” in 2003 and “Freedom of Sound” in 2005.

Michaels will perform at the rally as part of VH1’s Rock of Love Tour. The show, which is heading into its third season, is a dating style game in which women compete for the affection of Michaels.

Along with Michaels, other bands hitting the stage at the three-day rally include Great White, Axe and Killing Floor. Regional progressive rock group Electric Ocean will also be performing.

Other acts include the Lucky Dare Devil Thrill Show and celebrity bike builder Troy Nicholson of Lighting Cycle Works who will build a motorcycle on site, according to a rally news release.

The Gonzales Thunder Rally will be Oct. 10-12 at the JB Wells Park in Gonzales. Tickets are $20 for Friday, $35 for Saturday, $15 for Sunday or $45 for all three days. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.gonzalesthunderrally.com.
