Why do you want to serve in this office? If elected, what are your goals for this position?

I would like to restore the faith of the people of Precinct 4 in the office of county commissioner. They should be well-represented in county government decisions, and they deserve a strong voice on the court. My involvement in community activities for nearly 40 years has made me aware of the tremendous potential of this area and the people who live here. I am convinced that the commissioner must represent all of the citizens in the precinct and their best interests within the county. I will be a full-time commissioner and the concerns of the precinct will be my first priority.

My primary goal is to carefully consider the needs of the residents of Precinct 4 in issues addressed by the commissioners court. The tax money collected by the county must be carefully budgeted and cautiously spent, so another goal is to make sure that precinct funds are spent as prescribed by law and not wasted. I also want to promote more vigorous economic growth for the precinct and the county, which would provide more job opportunities for local residents, who are the area’s most important resource.

Why do you want to serve in this office? If elected, what are your goals for this position?

I’ve seen things that still need to be done. I want to help the people out, the taxpayers. I want to fix the road systems and improve the communities. First of all, clean up the cities, get more people moving down here and living in Tivoli and Refugio and Austwell. I have more experience than my opponent does in this type of work. I know my job. Also, I get along with people in this community and I work to help get them what they need.
