Veronica McCants, Sarah Korczynski, Tracy Graves, Tracy Cliburn, Deanna Gumm-Smith, Kim Garrett, Lorene Bothe, Ashly Kubicek and Iva Fuzzell of RE/MAX Land & Homes in Victoria, attended the Texas Realtors Convention and Trade Expo in San Antonio. The convention featured nationally recognized speakers, educational opportunities and many exhibitors at the trade show.
Jeffrey R. Di Leo, dean of the University of Houston-Victoria School of Arts & Sciences, recently was elected president of the Southern Comparative Literature Association during its annual meeting. Di Leo had served as vice president of the organization for the past two years and will be president through fall 2010.
Lynn M. Miori a CPA and CFP professional with Keller & Associates, CPAs and KMH Wealth Management, LLC was appointed to the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants Professional Ethics Committee. The committee is responsible for promoting and maintaining high professional standards of practice among CPAs in Texas. Miori has been a CPA for more than over 20 years.
Chad Kern has joined Keller & Associates, CPAs and KMH Wealth Management, LLC as a staff accountant. He holds a Bachelor of science from Texas A&M University. He was previously an exercise physiologist/personal trainer with Citizens HealthPlex and is pursuing a degree in accounting at the University of Houston At Victoria.
Texas Nurse Practitioners named Jean G. Gisler, family nurse practitioner, the 2008 Texas Nurse Practitioner of the Year at the 20th Annual Texas Nurse Practitioners Conference in Austin. The honor awarded Gisler with the only statewide, peer-recognized award. She accepted her award before more than 650 conference attendees from across the state.
Patrick J. Kennedy, Yoakum’s Economic/Community Development Coordinator, accepted the 2008 Community Economic Development Award for the City of Yoakum for Outstanding Achievement in Community Economic Development for population group 5,001 – 15,000 presented at the Texas Economic Development Council annual meeting recently in Austin.
