The National Weather Service said thunderstorms were possible in many regions of the state, with the greatest chance of rain in North Texas. Another round of storms was possible on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The forecast in North Texas called for a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms.
In Central Texas, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms was forecast with a high near 80 and an overnight low near 70 in the San Antonio area.
Mostly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms were forecast in the Houston area on Monday. The overnight low was forecast to drop into the upper 60s.
Highs in the Rio Grande Valley were expected in the upper 80s with a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon and early evening. Lows should be in the mid-70s.
