Beginning genealogy course now available
In the past months, many of our readers expressed an interest in taking an extended genealogy course to learn the basics of family history research, documentation, organization and preservation. Therefore, I designed a course offering beginners an opportunity to learn the basics of genealogy in a five-week continuing education course at the Victoria College. There are no written exams or grades and neither high school nor college transcripts are needed for registration. The class is limited to 25 participants and will meet from 6 till 8 p.m. Wednesday evenings during the month of January, the first Wednesday in February, and Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010. Class dates are Jan. 6 through Feb. 6, 2010. As the course instructor, I will offer individualized instruction and suggestions for further research. The final session will be a Saturday day-long research trip to the Houston Clayton Public Library, Feb. 6, 2010.
