Sunday’s game in Refugio will find the Rosebuds in their attractive new uniforms. The suits, of a dull gray and trimmed in dark maroon, arrived today and will be issued to the players tomorrow. Names of the various merchants who donated them are sewed on the shirt backs with blue braid. The stockings are half maroon and half white and the caps are solid black. A small “V” is on the left sleeve. Players who will receive the new suits must first turn in their old ones, Manager W. R. McCright has announced. It was also announced this morning that Victoria’s “holdout” umpire, E. T. (Bobbie) Clark had signed for the season. Clark is regarded one of the most proficient “Blind Toms” in the amateur circuit. Claude Riley, a flash in the league in 1931, is now out for the team and will be in his regular place in left field in the Refugio game Sunday. Riley is the fleetest runner on the squad, an excellent fielder.
