VICTORIA - Tom Pena Jr., 56, of Victoria passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 26, 1953, in Victoria, to Tom and Dolores Marez Pena. Mr. Pena was a retired water therapist, a Catholic, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
He was a loving husband and a wonderful son and brother. Tom had a generous heart always there to help anyone in need. He always had a smile on his face and was a friend to all who knew him.
Mr. Pena is survived by his wife and best friend, Maricela Pena of Victoria; his parents, Tom and Dolores Pena of Nursery; two stepsons, Joe Willie Martinez of Cameron and Noe Martinez of Victoria; three sisters, Sylvia Ortega (Manuel) of Friendswood, Mary Mooney (Darrell) of Victoria and Magdalena Schauer of Victoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Our Lady of Sorrow's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Building Fund or Masses.
