AULTON "FRITZ" SCHOELMAN
EL CAMPO - Aulton "Fritz" William Schoelman, also lovingly known as Umpsy, Pappy and Uncle Fritz, age 77, of El Campo passed Monday, December 10, 2012 at his residence after a long battle with a rare blood cancer. He was born June 18, 1935 in Wharton County to the late Paul Henry and Alice Mae Yackel Schoelman. Fritz owned and operated Canyon Trucking, K Bar S Ranch, Sandhill Charters and the Cook Shack. He loved playing dominoes and gambling. He was a 3rd degree Mason and a member of St. Johns Catholic Church.
He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Sherry) Kallina and husband Jesse of El Campo, Paula Kulhanek and husband Gabe of El Campo; grandchildren, Cheryl Walker and husband John, Mitzie Sparks Kallina, J.K. Kallina and wife Meghan , Juston Kallina and wife Erin, Jessica and Joshua Kulhanek; great grandchildren, Sterling Webb, Kaden and Abbie Sparks, Charleigh Jene, Mary Carol "Kalli" and Kami Jon Walker; brothers, Edward Schoelman of El Campo, Bobby Schoelman, Sr. of Sealy, Dale Schoelman of El Campo; sister, Betty Jo Schoelman Livanec of El Campo.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife of 57 years, Carol Jean Slaughter Schoelman; granddaughter,Jordan Kulhanek.
Visitation will start at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wheeler Funeral Home. Rosary will be at Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with funeral mass to follow at 10 a.m. at St.John Catholic Church in New Taiton with Rev. Gabriel Oduro Tawiah officiating. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery.
