MARY ANN SCHOONOVER
LOLITA - Mary Ann Bruce Schoonover, of Lolita, passed from this life in peace on Saturday, December 8, 2012, surrounded by her family, at the age of 71. She was born in Houston, on May 6, 1941, to the late Robert Leo and Uretha Nelson Bruce.
Mary Ann graduated from Industrial High School where she met the love of her life, Willard Schoonover.
They eloped on November 19, 1958. Mary Ann loved to draw, paint, sew, crochet, knit, and embroider. She also loved to fish, hunt, and camp. She attended the First Baptist Church of Lolita and will be greatly missed by many.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Willard H. Schoonover; daughters, Judy (Lupe) Lopez of Lolita, Joyce Bernal of Lolita, Mary (Shannon) Greer of Farmington, Arkansas, and Marla Schoonover of San Antonio; son, Willard H. Schoonover Jr. of Lolita; sister, Diana (Larry) Vollert of Liberty; Mary Ann is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nelda Newton; brother, Robert Bruce; grandson Lupe Lopez III; great grandson, Tyson Gwosdz; and niece Lisa Miller.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012, 5 - 7 pm at Oaklawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December, 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Lolita. Burial will follow at Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita. Brother Gary Thedford will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Mary Ann's grandsons.
