REUBEN E. TRAYNHAM
CUSHING - Reuben E. Traynham, 89, of Nacogdoches and formerly of Cushing and Yoakum passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 in Nacogdoches. He was born June 30, 1923 in Traskwood, Arkansas to Sanford & Maudie Wauford Traynham. He was a member of the West Austin Church of Christ in Nacogdoches. Mr. Traynham was a Navy veteran of W.W. II and served 30 months at sea on the USS Helena, USS Houston & the USS Providence. He had worked 23 years for Marine Drilling Company and later owned & operated The Learning Tree daycare center for 24 years with his wife in Yoakum. Mr. Traynham was affectionately known as "Pepa" to the children and all who knew him.
Mr. Traynham was preceded in death by his son, Reuben Paul Traynham as well as his parents and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife: (of 64 years & 11 months) Joy Traynham - Nacogdoches, Tx, daughter: Elaine Traynham Stevens - Nacogdoches, Tx, Son & Daughter-in-law: Ralph Scott & Paula Traynham - Fort Stockton, Tx, Sister: Priscilla Hurt - George West, Tx, Grandchildren: Dodie Borsellino & husband Jason, Tiffany Gauntt & husband Jon, Kandyce Stevens, Lance Traynham, Kelsie Traynham, Austin Traynham & T. Paul Traynham. Great Grandchildren: Drew Iverson, Blake Budzisz & Jaxon Borsellino.
Pallbearers - Lance Traynham, Ralph Traynham, Jon Gauntt, Austin Traynham, Drew Iverson, Terry Nichols & Robert Nelson.
Funeral Services will be Thursday December 13th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Justin McCorkle & Bro. Shane Millard officiating. Burial will follow at Cushing City Cemetery. There will be a visitation held Thursday, December 13, 2012 before the service at the funeral home from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
