LENA LEE COLE
CEDAR PARK - Lena Lee Cole of Cedar Park, Texas left this world on December 24, 2012. Born in Hunt, Texas on October 28, 1929, she was the first child of the late W. D. Lee and Mattie Moore Lee of Ingram, Texas.
She is survived by her two daughters, Leslie Cole Brown of Dallas, Texas, and Dana Jayn Cole Mason, husband Robert Lynn & granddaughter Laura of Azle, Texas; brother David Lee and wife Jinny of Ingram, Texas; sister Ila Faye Magee and husband Bill of College Station, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Lena was preceded in death by her sister, Henrietta Gabler of Ingram, Texas.
Lena married Edwin T. Cole in 1948, and in 1949 they shared the distinction of opening one of the early convenience stores, Cole's Corner in Port Lavaca, Texas. In 1970, Lena relocated to Austin, Texas. She retired in 1999 from her position as an Administrative Assistant in the legal profession from Davis & Wilkerson.
Lena had a great passion for life, had a gift of appreciating people and their talents, and she cultivated lifelong friendships. Lena went out of her way to help others, many times those she did not even know. She had the rare ability to recognize a need and act upon it whenever possible.
Lena had an unwavering faith in God. She fought a courageous fight against lung cancer but sadly, lost the battle on Christmas Eve. Lena was truly an amazing woman. She inspired and touched so many lives along her way. She always lived her life with style and grace. Lena will be missed by all that were fortunate to know and love her, and will never be forgotten.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Memorial Chapel at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas.
