ALBERT L. HLAVATY SR.
EL CAMPO - Albert L. Hlavaty Sr., 86, of El Campo passed away on April 19, 2013. He was born on April 3, 1927 in El Campo to the late Frank and Annie Polasek Hlavaty.
Albert served in the U.S. Army for 30 years. He Served in the Cold War, Korean War, and Vietnam. He was a member of St. Philips Catholic Church and American Legion Post 251.
Survivors include his sisters Mary Jane Balcar and husband Victor of El Campo and Alice Tyler of Angleton, brothers Jerry Hlavaty and wife Rosie of Hillje, Raymond Hlavaty and wife Georgia of El Campo, A.J. Hlavaty and wife Jo Ann of El Campo, Robert Hlavaty and wife Connie of Taiton, Tony Hlavaty and friend Elaine of Angleton, Patrick Hlavaty and wife Helen of El Campo, and Richard Hlavaty and wife Cathy of Louise and numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ilse Hlavaty, daughter Mildred Hlavaty, son Albert Hlavaty Jr., sisters Judy Orsak and Martha Watson and brother Louis Hlavaty.
Visitation will be held on Monday April 22 at Triska Funeral Home from 12 pm to 7 pm. The family will receive guests from 4pm to 6 pm Monday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday April 23 at 10 am at St. Philips Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 with the Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Hillje with military honors under the auspices of American Legion post 251.
Pallbearers will be Clint Hlavaty, Dennis Hlavaty, David Hlavaty, Doug Hlavaty, Mark Tyler, Brian Hlavaty, Mike Watson, and Jeff Balcar. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Bartosh, Allen Bartosh, and his nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge his caregivers Alice Warzecha and Pam Lara. Memorial donations in memory of Albert Hlavaty may be made to St. Philips Catholic School.
