Edward W. Reynal Jr.

Born on Oct. 22, 1924

BAY CITY - Edward Werner Reynal, Jr., 89, of Bay City passed away December 7, 2013. He was born October 22, 1924 in Forney, TX to the late Edward Werner Reynal, Sr. and Ruth Davis Reynal.
He graduated from Bay City High School in 1942 then joined the United States Army Air Force. He attended flight school and was commissioned a Lieutenant and trained to pilot medium bombers. He served in the 380th and 345th Bomb Group in the South Pacific Theatre during WWII.
Upon returning home from the war, he attended and graduated from Texas A&M in 1951 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He retired from Phillips Petroleum Company after 32 years as Sr. Design Engineer.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bay City. He was past master of Bay City Masonic Lodge #865 AF&AM and of Matagorda Masonic Lodge #7 AF&AM; past commander of Bay City Commandry #74; past High Priest of Bay City Chapter 315; past TIM Bay City Council #251; and past patron Bay City Chapter 380 OES.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Billie Jean Harris Reynal; son Stewart Reynal and wife Sherry; brother Thomas J. Reynal; grandsons Jason Reynal and Shane Reynal and nephew Tom Reynal.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm until 8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Dr. Russ Munch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert F. Narin, Bert Smith, Frank Mihalik, Eddie Douglas, Calvin Ward and Bill Bona. Honorary pallbearers will be Gregg Sutherland, Doug Holland, George Deshotels, Len Cornelius, George Duret, and Dick Udovich.
