HERTHA ROSE LASSMANN
MISSION VALLEY - Hertha Rose Lassmann, 101, of Mission Valley passed away Friday, February 8, 2013. She was born October 13, 1911, in Tivoli to the late Alfred and Elizabeth Fuhrman Schultz. She married Leon "Skinnie" Lassmann on November 1, 1933. They were happily married for 58 years until his death in 1992.
She was employed by Victoria Livestock Commission, Director of the Pink Ladies at Citizens Medical Center and retired from Devereaux School. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley. She enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, puzzles, doing handwork and quilting.
She is survived by her son, Charles "Sonny" Lassmann; her daughter, Jeanette Turek (Jodie); grandchildren, Gary Lassmann (Janie), Stephen Turek (Kandi) and Stacey Turek Rather; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Skinnie" Lassmann; sisters, Anna Calcote and Gertrude Mills Baugh; brothers, Louis and Rudolph Schultz; grandson, William "Brett" Lassmann; infant great-grandchildren, Amanda and Blake Rather.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday, February 11, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley, Rev. Mike Couchman officiating. Burial will follow in Mission Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Lassmann, Stephen Turek, Jimmy Mills, Redell Calcote, Jimmy Lassmann and Rueben Lassmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Hurdle, Gerald Clark, Howard Gathright, Delmar Jaschke and Richard Danko.
The family would like to thank Twin Pines Nursing Home, the Third Floor Nursing Staff at Citizens Medical Center and Pastor Mike Couchman for their love and support.
