VIRGIL C. BRANCH JR.
VICTORIA - Virgil C. Branch, Jr., 87, of Victoria, passed away February 24, 2013. He was born April 5, 1925, in Daisetta, Texas, to the late Virgil C. Branch, Sr. and Lillie Mae Marthiljohni Branch. He went to Refugio High School and graduated from Allen Academy in Bryan. He served in the United States Navy for 8 years during World War II. Virgil retired as a shift foreman after working at DuPont for 32 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Terry Branch Waida and husband, Larry of Victoria; son, Ray Branch and wife, Gail of Baytown; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Smith Branch.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 1 PM from Rosewood Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Nick Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with flag folding and taps under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Waida, Bradley Waida, Calvin Waida, Daryl Smith, Mark Branch, Justin Kaplan and Wayland VanNest. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Studer, Bill Birmingham, Wally Marthiljohni and Kenny French.
