MERCEDES P. PERALES
VICTORIA - Mercedes P. Perales, 88, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born on September 24, 1924 in Cerralvo, N.L. Mexico to the late Perfecto Perales and Porta Barrera de Perales.
Mercedes is survived by her daughters, Maria Del Carmen P. Hernandez and Maria P. Aguayo, both of Victoria; sisters, Maria Zarate of Robstown, Margaret (Joe) Olivares of La Grange, Isaurdo (Adan) Gutierrez of Chicago, Socorro Garcia and Tomasita Rios, both of Monterrey, Mexico; brothers, Jose M. (Amavelie) Perales of Chicago, Juan (Gloria) Perales of Pasadena; sister-in-law, Esther Perales of Port Lavaca and Rebecca Perales of Cerralvo, N.L. Mexico; 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mercedes is preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad P. Pena; son, Juan Rafael Perales; sister, Maria De Las Angeles B. Perales, and brothers, Reymundo Perales, Eutemio Perales and Oscar Perales.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Grace Funeral Home. A rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Stan DeBoe officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Martin Aguayo, Raul Hernandez, Paul Hernandez, Alex Tovar, Joe Hernandez, Jose Olivares, Robert Hernandez, and Anthony Soto. Honorary pallbearers are Vincent Soto, George Soto, Raul Hernandez, Jr., Danny Hernandez, Paul Hernandez, Jr., Juan Aguayo, Jerry Spiegel, III, and Brandon Rodriguez.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Deleon and staff, Dr. Quadri and staff, Pastor Lyman Mereness, Joann Countryman with Crown Hospice and their staff.
