BOBBY JOE BANKHEAD
VICTORIA - Bobby Joe Bankhead, 74, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born October 28, 1938 to the late Robert and Hattie L. Brooks Bankhead. He was a retired maintenance engineer and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Woodson Bankhead; daughters, Carla Bankhead of Houston and Karen Bankhead of Victoria; sons, Alfred Woodson and Bruce Bankhead, both of Victoria; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Her is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Thelma A. Wade Bankhead.
Walk-in visitation 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Barefield Funeral Home. Funeral service 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Palestine Baptist Church, with Rev. Gregory O. Wyatt as eulogist. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers: O'Neill Smith, Curtis Hicks, Fleming McMurray, Michael Bennett, and Gary Brown. Honorary pallbearers: Bryan Bankhead, Bobby Joe Bankhead, Rodney Bankhead, Bruce Bankhead, Sean Wade, Alfred Woodson, and Evan Woodson.
