WINFORD RAY LOTT SR.
SHINER - Winford Ray Lott, Sr., age 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
He was born on November 9, 1939 in Coila, Mississippi to Roger and Bernice Lottie Bailey Lott.
Winford's career was in lithographic printing where during his 40 years tenure he held key positions at the Star Herald Newspaper, Kosciusko, MS; Hederman Brothers, Jackson, MS and Drake Printing, Houston, TX. He retired in 1998 from Hart Graphics Inc. where he served as executive Vice President in charge of election printing materials for South Texas. He was also a real estate broker for many years and has maintained his license for over 30 years.
While residing in Pasadena, he belonged to the Pasadena Rodeo Association where he was a director and board member. Winford's life long dream was retire to a farm lifestyle much like where he grew up in Coila, MS. Winford purchased his farm in 1992 and worked tirelessly to remodel the house and restore the land to farming. In 2000, he and his wife Diane' relocated to "Needs a Lott Farm" in Shiner where they lived a modest life. Winford had many hobbies including raising livestock, farming, collecting antique cars and playing poker with his friends. He truly enjoyed life to the fullest and was mostly proud of his family, many friends and the community of Shiner. Winford will be greatly missed, may he forever rest in peace.
Winford served in the National Guard.
Survivors: wife, Diane' Barrois' Lott of Shiner; daughters, Carolyn Anniece Ellis and husband Freddie of Pasadena and Selina Jo Nelson and husband Tim of Seabrook; sons, Winford Ray Lott, Jr. and wife Michelle of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Craig Joseph Bell of Pasadena and Christopher Lee Bell and wife Melanie of the Philippines; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Hovas and husband D.D. of Kilmichael, Mississippi and Dianne Moon and husband Bruce of Water Valley, Mississippi; brothers, Donald Lott and wife Mary of Conroe, Ronald Lott of Duck Hill, Mississippi and Gale Lott and wife Pam of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Preceded in death by: parents; son, Bryan Patrick Bell.
Memorial service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Shiner with Rev. John Fletcher officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church or Shiner Gas Light Theater.
