CLEO D. GERNHART
VICTORIA - Cleo Duane Gernhart, 88, of Victoria passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013. He was born in Versailles, Missouri on August 27, 1924 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Gernhart. Cleo proudly served his county in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He loved working in his shop on different mechanical projects, when he lived in Seadrift.
Cleo is survived by his wife, Elena A. Gernhart of Victoria; daughter, Joy Gernhart of Victoria; grandchildren, James (Teresa) Edwards, Martin Gomez; great-grandchildren, Angelica (Christopher) Fuentez, Christopher (Lori) Gomez; Harmony Versace Fuentez, Miracle Grace Gomez and Jeremy Posada. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Gernhart.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.; Rosary will follow at 7:00 on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Grace Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Grace Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Combined Honor Guard will follow at the Seadrift Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Martin Gomez, Christopher Gomez, James Edwards, Christopher Fuentez, T.J. Gilland and Jessie Estrada.
The family extends special thanks to Crown Hospice, Dr. Anna Delgado, Dr. Dakshesh-Kumar Parikh and the ladies at DeTar 4 East for the loving care given to our loved one and the kindness shown to our family during Cleo's stay.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crown Hospice in Cleo's memory.
