LEO D. WILLIAMSON
VICTORIA - Leo Dell Williamson went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the age of 98. He was born March 27, 1915 in Pioneer, Louisiana. His parents were Ward and Lela McElrath Williamson. He married Agnes Raybourn of Columbia, Mississippi in 1937 and they honored each other with 65 years of marriage.
Leo worked with heavy equipment and was an operating engineer for many years. He retired and then under took a new career as a security guard for the Braman O'Connor estate for 22 years.
His children and grandchildren will remember him as a man who loved them and guided them to make good choices in life. Being a superb story teller, he valued laughter and entertained friends and family with a multitude of funny stories and jokes. He was an outdoorsman; enjoying camping, boating, fishing and hunting.
Leo is survived by his sister, Ethelyn of California; his son, Gary Williamson and wife Catherine; four grandchildren: Quentin Harris and wife Martha, Gerard Harris and wife Geniene, Chandler Williamson and wife Angela, and Morgan Williamson; and four great grandchildren, Stephanie, Jake, Danielle and Seth Harris.
Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; and his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Harris.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 am Monday, July 8, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm Monday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Vernon Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chandler Williamson, Quent Harris, Gerard Harris, Seth Harris, Jake Harris, and Gene Earley.
