Max C. Jasso

KILLEEN - Max C. Jasso (MSG-RET) Purple Heart recipient, 24-year Army veteran of two wars, loving husband, and caring father of four, peacefully passed away on July 16th, 2013, in his own home, surrounded by family and friends and loving wife of 45 years.
He had bravely fought his battle with cancer, for the last 5 years, and never gave up hope to overcome it. He was born in Austwell, TX on January 14th, 1948, and travelled the world during his Army tours, he finally retired in Killeen, TX with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jose and Victoria Jasso.
He is survived by his brothers, Joe Jasso, Jr. of Victoria and David C. Jasso of Austwell; sisters, Mary Canales and Margaret Gonzales of Austwell, Yolanda Lerma of Refugio, and Josey J. Yaklin and Rosita Jasso of Tivoli. He is also survived by his wife, Po Pae Jasso of Killeen; his children, Mary Ann Copeland, married to Antonio, with grandchildren Antonio Jr, Brittany, Jacob, and Dominick; Betty Lou Jasso Shubert, married to Brian Shubert, Max Jasso Jr., married to Stephanie, with grandchildren, Maximiliano III and Joaquin, and Michael Jasso, married to Katrina, with grandchildren, Iliana and Thayden.
He will be laid to rest in his hometown, among family and friends, in the Austwell Cemetery. Viewing, Rosary, and Mass services will take place at the Saint Anthony of Padua church in Austwell, TX. on Saturday, July 20th, starting at 8:30 AM.
