Andrew S. Garza

EL CAMPO - Andrew S. Garza of El Campo died July 25, 2013 at the age of 66. He was born January 1, 1947 in El Campo to Pedro and Maria Soria Garza. He was the co-owner of United Electric Motors for 31 years before opening his own business, Andrew Garza Sales & Service, which he has operated for the past 6 years. He was a veteran of the National Guard, a member and past Post Commander of the American Legion Post 251, a 3rd Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus #9393, a co-founder of the Hispanic Education Project and was a Boy Scout Master for many years.
He is survived by his mother, wife Antonia Pesina Garza, both of El Campo, daughter Rachel Taysom of Richmond, sons Gary Garza of El Campo and Andrew "Ray" Garza of Snyder, brothers Pedro Garza, Jr. of Killeen, John and Joe Garza of El Campo, and Victor Garza of Tomball, sisters Gloria Cruz and Hopie Garza of El Campo, and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Tony Garza and infant brother Issac.
Visitation will be 2 pm - 5 pm Friday at Triska Funeral Home. He will then lie in repose at St. Robert's Catholic Church at 6 pm, followed by a parish rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be 10 am Saturday, July 27, 2013, at St. Robert's Church. Graveside services will follow with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251 at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
