Isidoro P. Rubio

Born on Oct. 17, 1932

VICTORIA - Isidoro P. Rubio, 80, of Victoria, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 in DaCosta. He was born October 17, 1932 in Ganado to the late Felix and Cruz Plata Rubio. He was a Catholic and served proudly in the United States Army from 1953 - 1955, was a retired member of the Shut In Ministry, was a volunteer DeCosta firefighter, and retired from Concrete Construction. He was a simple man who was very considerate and loving to his family.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married on August 4, 1956, Abelina Briones Rubio of Victoria; son, Felix Rubio (Melissa) of DeCosta; sister, Marian Rubio (Victor) of San Antonio; brothers, Marcelo Rubio (Margaret) of Telferner, Isabel Rubio (Amelia) of Victoria, Victor Rubio of Victoria, and Alex Rubio of Edna; sister-in-law, Janie Rubio of Victoria; son-in-law, Patricio Rivera of DeCosta; grandchildren, Linda Rivera (Ruben), Jeremy Rivera (Marina), and Patrick Rivera (Monica); and great-grandchldren, Austin James Rivera, Nathaniel Rivera, and Alexys Rivera.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Stella Rivera; brother, Joe Rubio.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Artero Memorial Chapels. Visitation will resume from 8 - 9 a.m. with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery with military services under the auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council AL, CWV,VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, EX-POW, MOPH, WS, KWV.
Pallbearers: Felix Rubio, Jeremy Rivera, Patrick Rivera, Richard Rubio, Joe "BJ" Rubio, and Victor Rubio.
