BETTYE JEANICE RHODEN
VICTORIA - Bettye Jeanice Rhoden, 84, peacefully departed on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was born December 23, 1927, as the seventh child to Clyde and Bettie Halbert of Milam in East Texas. After being raised with a strong family foundation she explored living the city life in Houston where she met her spouse, Clyde Rhoden, of 29 years. Together they settled in Victoria, Texas where they raised their son, Emmett, as older nurturing parents.
Bettye is survived by her son, Clyde Emmett Rhoden (wife, Georgette), step-son, Gary Rhoden (wife, Katherine), and two cherished grandsons, Dillon and Connor Rhoden, all of Victoria; sister, Mary Love of Houston and numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends she considered family.
A Celebration of life gathering, following cremation, will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
