AUGUSTIN SANCHEZ
VICTORIA - Augustin Sanchez, 94, of Victoria, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born June 19, 1918 in San Benito to the late Augustin Sr. and Nicolosa Olivares Sanchez. He was a Catholic, served in the United States Navy, and was a retired rancher.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicolosa Ramirez of Victoria, Lupe Acuna of Austin, Mary Bustamante of Baytown, and Liz Morgenroth of Victoria; sister, Aurora Navarro of Santa Rosa; brother, Jesse Sanchez of Kaiser, Oregon; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 44 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Antonia E. Sanchez; daughter, Ophelia S. Anzaldua; son, Raymond Sanchez; sisters, Elvira Gonzales, Blasa Perez, Ovalle Ginoeva, and Maria Gonzales; and brothers, Pablo Sanchez, Joe Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Demetrio Sanchez, Franisco Sanchez, and Bruno Sanchez.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Artero Memorial Chapels. A prayer service will be from 9 - 10 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Artero Memorial Chapels before a graveside service at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery. Full military service will be conducted under the auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, EX-POW, MOPH, VVA, and KWV.
