EDDIE VIGUS
VICTORIA - Eddie Vigus, age 77, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013. He was born November 18, 1935 in Wellington, Texas to the late Leo and Captola Dreyden Vigus. Eddie was a member of Midtown Church of Christ. He was an appliance repairman, and retired from Sears after 30 years of service. After retirement, he continued to work on his own for over 20 years.
Eddie proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was a member of the KWV. He enjoyed playing dominoes, and attending the local country opry shows to listen to the music. He loved to spend time with his family, and especially liked to eat fried fish.
He is survived by his wife, Linda N. Vigus of Victoria; sons, Ray Vigus and wife Kay of Cuero, Nels Highberg of Connecticut, and Charles Courtney of Virginia; daughters, Chanda Olson of Victoria, and Pam Fiew and husband Glenn of Edna; step-children, Joseph Hurst and wife Stacie of New Braunfels and Michella Hurst of Victoria; brothers, Dorin Vigus of Red Bluff, CA and Craig Vigus and wife Brandy of Oklahoma; sisters, Lownell Newman and husband Sam of Seadrift, Mildred Lundstron of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Vera Anderson and husband Lonnis of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren: Amber Vigus Pineda and husband Carl of Yoakum, April Vigus, Sara Fiew Williams and husband Patrick of Edna, Derek Fiew of Edna, Ric Naylor and wife Mary of San Antonio, Lacey Naylor of Giddings, John Dacus, Marcus Dacus, Samantha Aldis, Colton Grear, Autumn Hurst, and Spring Hurst; and great grandchildren, Xavier Aldis, Tyler, Linda, and Bradley Grear, Camelia and Jayla Martinez, Tatum and Kaleb Curry, Jordin Nichols, and Charlotte Naylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Clara Ione Stevens Vigus and Margaret Wayland Vigus; brother, Raymond Vigus; and sisters, Velta White, Wanda Self, and Millides Vigus.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home. If you wish, you may join the Family for a funeral procession from Colonial Funeral Home to Memory Gardens Cemetery at 9:15 am Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Graveside services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Mr. Clay Bond officiating.
Full military honors under Auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, MOPH, VVA and the KWV. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Vigus, Kay Vigus, Emmitt Phillips, Ric Naylor, Lacey Naylor, Amber Vigus Pineda, Carl Pineda, and April Vigus. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Jolly, Joe Garcia, Derek Fiew, and Sara Fiew Williams.
