John D. Marek

Born on Sept. 17, 1942

PORT LAVACA - John D. Marek, 70 of Port Lavaca, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013. He was born on September 17, 1942 to the late Otto and Lillie Schneider Marek in Ganado. John served his country in the United States Army. He was an electrician, a member of the VFW and the Lutheran Church.
He is survived by daughter, Michelle Marek of Dallas; son Nathan (Donna) Marek of Victoria; sister Doris Mills of Port Lavaca; brothers, Howard (Cathy) Marek of Victoria, Robert Marek of Port Lavaca; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four nephews and five nieces.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Otto Marek, Jr.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Grace Funeral Chapel.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Grace Funeral Chapel with Reverend Daniel Zellmer, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Warren Whatley, John Fricke, Bubba Sterling, Dennis Harvey, Marty Dworaczyk, and Eddie Buehring. Honorary Pallbearer Leslie Boyd.
Donations may be made to the donor's choice.
