WILLIAM G. RENFROW
VICTORIA - William G. Renfrow, 83, of Victoria, passed away April 30, 2013. He was born August 26, 1929, in Binger, Oklahoma to the Cecil Renfrow and Beulah Mason. He was a member of the U.S. Army.
Gene was very proud of his military career. He joined the Army at the age of 24 in 1955 and was quickly promoted to staff seargent by the time he left in 1963. During his two tours of Gemany he discovered he had a talent for buying cars, fixing them and reselling them for a profit. From this point on he was a self made entrepeneur. On his return to the states, he became an Evinrude Boat dealer and got started in buying and selling real estate. Through the years he was known to help many people through their financial crisis. He had a passion for fixing cars and doing things no one else would even attempt. He loved his family. Everyone has memories of fishing trips with him. There was always time for fishing! He loved to laugh and to joke around. He was always available to help whoever was in need. He will be remembered for his generosity to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Renfrow of 55 years. Children Sharon Lakes of Bakersfield, CA, Randy Butler of Bakersfield, CA, Debbie Lewis of Temple, Texas , Jeff Renfrow of San Antonio, Texas and son in law Rick Fitzhugh of Cuero, Texas. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, neices and nephews. Sisters Norma Payne of Bakersfield, CA, Janet Davis (Coyt) of Bakersfield, CA and his beloved poodles Drake and Casey.
Including his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Rita Lewis and son Don Renfrow.
The family will receive visitors May 2, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held May 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Rev Alvin Kight officiating. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Lewis, Jaime Lewis, Jeff Renfrow, Chris Renfrow, Bill Warren and Rick Fitzhugh.
