RAYMOND JERRY GILLUM
EDNA - Raymond Jerry Gillum, 73, of Edna, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his residence.
Raymond was born in Burnet, Texas on January 19, 1940, the son of the late Raymond and Stella Corine (Thurman) Gillum.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. He worked for the Houston Fire Department for 5 years and the Union Pacific railroad for 5 years. He was also self employed as a welder.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting and building outdoor furniture in his shop in Lolita.
He is survived by wife, Barbara Sue Van Cleve Gillum; son, Wendell Joe Gillum and wife, Karen of Everett, Washington; Rhonda June Maxwell and husband, Wesley of Cottonwood Shores, Texas; step sons George A. Grahm and wife, Tiffany of Blanco, Texas; Jason Lambert and wife, Jennifer of Edna, Texas; step daughter-in-law, Mary Gandy of Edna, Texas; five grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. .
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara Ann (Grady) Gillum; grandson, Jerry Joe Maxwell; step granddaughter, Belinda Dubos; step grandson; Archie Gandy.
Memorial Services will be held at God's Church, 402 East North St., Victoria, Texas, 77901 at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Avenue, Victoria, Texas 77901.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Tx.
