YOAKUM - Elizabeth Korinek, age 97, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013.
She was born November 9, 1916 in Fordtran to Louis and Julia Sykora Smolka.
She was a homemaker and a care giver and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of KJZT, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, Pink Ladies and a Stevens Nursing Home volunteer.
Survivors are daughters, Josephine E. DeRuiter of Schulenburg, Vlasta Brewer of Koerth and Annie Havel (Wayne) of Sweet Home; sons, Philip Korinek (Ann) of Victoria and John Korinek (Janice) of Yoakum; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Janik, Sophia Grahmann, James Grahmann, Brian Korinek, Christopher Korinek, Lela Tyson, Tina Boylston, Kevin Korinek, Westin Korinek and Derek Korinek; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Dobbs of Yoakum and Mary Johnson of Montgomery City, Missouri.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joe Korinek; son, Joseph Korinek; granddaughter, Toni Havel; brothers, Bohumil Smolka and Louis Smolka and sister Hedwig Dycus.
Rosary 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery at Koerth, Texas.
Pallbearers: Brian Korinek, Christopher Korinek, James Grahmann, Kevin Korinek, Weston Korinek, Derek Korinek and Frank Smolka.
