John 'Tony' Moring

Born on Feb. 26, 1937

REFUGIO - John "Tony" Moring, 76, of Refugio passed away September 8, 2013. Tony was born February 26, 1937, in Goliad to the late Elroy and Johnnie Walker Moring. Tony retired from Texaco after 37 years of service. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Woodsboro and was very active in the church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Egg Moring of Refugio; daughter, Cindy Wiginton and husband Bubba of Refugio; sons, Phillip Moring and wife Kim of Refugio and Richard Moring and wife Jennifer of Schulenburg; sister, Lavada Krause of Atlanta, Ga; the lights of his life his seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; special friends Melissa Leita and Judy Jenkins; caregiver Victoria Maldonado.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Natalie Henry and Nora Bell Elder, and brothers, Wade, Roy, Vernon and Doug Moring.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday with a prayer service to begin at 7:30 PM, September 11, 2013, at the Rosewood Funeral Chapels in Victoria.
Services will be held at 10 am Thursday, September 12, 2103, at Peace Lutheran Church in Woodsboro with the Rev. Mary Ida Lobaugh and Rev. Michael Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio.
Pallbearers will be Roy, Timmy, Edward and Johnny Moring, Stewart Cooper and Robert Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Kappmeyer and Darrell Moring.
