ALICE V.G. LOEFFLER
VICTORIA - Alice V. Gibson Loeffler, 81, of Victoria, Texas, went to be with her Lord on May 1, 2014. Alice was born on Feb. 09, 1933, in Robstown, Texas. She graduated from Sinton High School. She then attended Durham's Business College in San Antonio, TX and later worked for the Alice Independent School District. Some of her interests included singing, flower arranging, cooking and baking family favorite recipes, and faithfully serving in her church and community. Alice was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. "Well done, good and faithful servant", Matt. 25:21. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. Veselka Sr. & Mary Zita Veselka, husbands, Woodard Gibson and Aubrey Linn Loeffler, and brothers, Ernest Veselka (wife Joyce), and Walter E. Veselka, Jr (wife Ila Rae).
She is survived by her children: Walter Lloyd Gibson (wife Bonnie), Nancy Marie Sklar (husband Charles), Marc Edward Gibson (wife Marie), Paul Eugene Gibson (wife Glenda), and Vanessa Michele Gibson; 6 grandchildren, Paula McCoy (husband Daniel), Brian Gibson (wife Jessica), Matthew Gibson (wife Veronica), JaLesia Gibson, Allyson Gibson, and Charles Allen Sklar Jr.; and 3 great grandchildren Nathan and Nolan McCoy, and Sophia Grace Gibson. She was also survived by her brothers, Alvin Veselka (wife Suzanne), Reynold Veselka (wife Mary Louise), and Eugene Veselka (wife Linda, deceased); along with daughter-in-law, Sheila Gibson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, TX. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel on May 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alice Fraternal Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all of the "angels", the staff at Twin Pines Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of South Texas in Victoria, TX, who helped care for their mother.
