SHINER - Albina Koliba Powers, age 91, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
She was born October 2, 1922 in DeWitt County to George and Anna Ermis Koliba.
She was a housewife, a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Altar Society and KJZT.
Survivors: daughter, Ann Morris (Robbie) of Houston; two grandchildren, Christian and Kenneth; numerous nieces and nephew; special caregivers, Barbara and Otto Koliba of Shiner.
Preceded in death by husband, Gratton Powers; sisters, Agnes Krupala, Annie Benys, Judy Pizzitola, Josephine Janota and Mary Koliba; brothers, Willie, Joe, Jim, Otto, and Julius Koliba.
Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Rosary 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014, followed by the Funeral Mass at 2 p.m., at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Entombment at Sunset Mausoleum in San Antonio will be held Friday.
Memorials may be made to Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, St. Ann Catholic Church or donor's choice.
