Born on May 22, 1930
VICTORIA -Our loving mother and grandmother, Rita Pena passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the age of 83. She was born in Tampico Taumalipas, Mexico on May 22, 1930 to the late Manuel and Virginia Vasquez.
Words come easy to describe Mom. She was a cook for Our Lady of Sorrows CCD. She was known as "Nacho Rita" for the large nachos she would prepare. She had a heart of gold and a gentle hand. Rita would, and did give away her last dollar and opened her door to anyone who needed it. There are so many memories she left for us to tell and pass on, her sense of humor, all of her jokes and way she had of always understanding. Being aware that her last days were near, she would still crack a joke and offer her food, at the hospital, to her visitors. Rita was one of a kind and most of all she loved her family. Thank you, for loving us the way you did, we are missing you already, and we love you! "(Neighborhood Mom").
