Reason Six – We will be closed to replace the carpeting the following week May 15-19, and we need you all to take the books away so we don’t have to move them.
Reason Five – You can confound the decorator in your home by replacing all the whatnots on the bookshelves with real books.
Reason Four – You can stock your vacation home (and those of your friends) with good reading.
Reason Three – You can pick out favorites you have enjoyed and give them to children. Ownership of books is very important to children.
Reason Two – The proceeds from the books you purchase will be used to buy new books for the library.
Reason Number One – You owe it to yourself. Treat yourself and others to the joy of owning books at bargain basement prices.
All lists aside, the Friends Book Sale is a major undertaking by volunteer workers.
Donated books are assembled, sorted and displayed for the convenience of the public.
The prices are incredibly low and the values very high. Over the years since 1977, the Friends have raised more than $350,000 for the purchase of books in the library.
