Callers say Obama did the right thing
advertising

I think Obama handled the Rev. Wright controversy very well. I think the media needs to move on and go away from this topic. Get on the issues that really matter, such as healthcare, gas prices and Social Security.

In regards to the Obama situation, I just feel really bad for him because everybody is forming their opinions by what the Rev. Wright said. I am a firm believer that nobody can speak for anybody else; that person has to speak for themselves. Because he disallowed himself away from the Rev. Wright, I think he did the right thing.

I want to say that I think Obama held himself really well on this issue, and I think that he said all that needs to be said. He doesn’t believe the things that the Rev. Wright said, and I think that he will do great things for our country if he is elected president.

I just wanted to give my opinion on Obama and on the Rev. Wright case. I believe he did a good job of that, and I don’t believe that he has the same views as the Rev. Wright.

I just moved here about a year ago, and I have a comment about your paper. There are two things I don’t like about Victoria: No. 1, the wind has been real, real bad, and the Victoria paper has been bad, bad, bad.

Irene Solnik, Mr. Carter doesn’t need to apologize to Americans. Your cold-blooded, war-mongering Republicans need to apologize to Mr. Carter.
