RE: Wright or wrong?

He has finally come to the conclusion I did the first time I heard the so called "snippets." He has finally said the obvious about Wright's nutty suggestion that the government created the HIV virus to kill blacks. He has finally seen that there can be no context for such a blood libel. Perhaps many in the country have seen that he is not up to the job of being President, not because of what his minister said, but because it took him so long to comprehend it."Slow learner?

Is it just me or does Wright seem to be out for the publicity of self promotion? I don't think that this election should be based or considered on the basis of sex, or race, but when we talk about religion...I do think that the American voters should know something about the religious beliefs of their candidates. Religion is a choice, sex and race are not, and religion is part of who we are, how we reason and view things, and what we stand for as human beings. If we had a candidate that was deeply committed to a religion that is at odds with our government or type of government...then I believe that voters have a right to know that. This does not mean that this should be a subject that is directed at only one candidate, in this case Obama, but should be a factor in any and all Americans who are seeking public office.

The message was lost because, all that people were hearing were sound bites. I agree with you about his sermons and like most people, when he started appearing everywhere making wild accusations--he lost me. He could have been a help to Obama, but he became a hinderance. In the Bill Moyer interview he was very impressive. Then he turned into a frog overnight. He wanted his 15 minutes. Now I hope it is over.
