I think the city should put in elevated crosswalks like in other big cities. I think we need an elevated overpass over Navarro all the way to the mall.

I disagree with the Advocate’s thumbs down on oil companies. Their profit amounts to about 7 percent. This is not an unreasonable profit for a company to make. What they are really doing is delivering a product at a price that the public is willing to pay. If we weren’t willing to pay it the price would come down.

I don’t think that the widow should pay for having her car impounded. The sheriff’s department had her car towed; have the Sheriff’s Department pay for it. They are the ones who are going to investigate it.

I just wanted to say that the editorial staff should be ashamed of themselves for putting something on the front page on Mothers Day such as the “Fatal Funnel.” It is horrible. You can’t do something like that on Mothers Day. I am just very upset with it; it is not a proper time nor place to do it. And, by the way, what has happened to Baxter Black?
