I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many wonderful partners responsible for this year’s annual Nurse Academy presented by the Pecan Valley Area Health Education Center.

Thank you to our planning committee of Terry Guerrero of Citizens Medical Center, Charlene Adams of DeTar Healthcare System, Tammy Whatley of The University of Houston-Victoria and Meghan Monney and Ricki Jo Bonner of The Victoria College. I appreciate the time and effort that you and your staff put into making this a truly memorable day for our 19 junior high students.

Thank you to the principals and counselors at Trinity Episcopal School, Howell Middle School, Patti Welder Magnet Middle School, and Crain Middle School for encouraging their students to participate and excusing them to attend this educational program during the school day.

I truly appreciate all of the community support for the students as they explore a career in nursing.
