The Lady Astros placed first in the 2009 All-American Shootout in Sugar Land. The Lady Astros are a 12U girls select softball team based in Victoria and sponsored by The Ellis Company. Members of the team include from left, front row, Gabbie Torres, Alyssa Adames, Nyla Simmons, Maya Haynes, Shelsey Gonzalez, Lexy Green, and Madison Garza; back row, coach Mike Haynes, Ayanna Ellis, Makayla McDonald, and Mariah Clay.
