Sheryl and John Canter bought their Dacosta home on a short sale. Short sales come when a lender allows a home to sell for less than the owed amount, avoiding additional foreclosure costs. The process also saves the foreclosure credit status on the original borrower. The Canters are in the process of remodeling the home.
