American Legion State Commander Don Daft of Wallis presented Winnie McCarrell with a Commander's Coin, during his visit with state and district officers at Victoria's American Legion Post 166 on Sept. 12. The award was given to her in memory of McCarrell's husband, Roland McCarrell, and for her volunteer work with veterans.
