The East Texas Baptist University Debate Team competed in the International Public Debate Association National Convention and Tournament on March 26-28, at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark., and returned with a national championship in the novice division and a national runner-up in the professional division. Freshman Trey Miller, of Victoria, compiled an overall record of 11-2 in route to the national championship, ETBUs first ever for debate. This was Miller's second-ever collegiate debate tournament.
