The driver of a 2007 Ford Mustang was was traveling eastbound on Main Street about 7 a.m. about 80 mph in a 40 mph zone when he lost control of the vehicle, causing him to strike the Vietnam War Memorial and flip the vehicle. Joseph Jeffries, 30, of Yorktown, was airlifted to Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi and is in critical condition, said Sgt. Richard Ramirez of the Yorktown Police Department.
