Jeff Lin looks at his phone as his three daughters, from left, Angela, 6, Jessica, 7, and Sophia, 11, climb over each other to see the screen during the Chinese New Year celebration Saturday at Northside Baptist Church. The annual celebration is hosted at the church by the Victoria Chinese Christian Fellowship. More than 80 people gathered for food and fun to ring in the Year of the Horse. Stephanie Lu, who has lived in Victoria for about 14 years, said that the tradition of a New Years celebration is very important. "In Victoria most of us have immigrated and don't have family near-by," she said, "So we make it so everyone can come together and share what we have. We're making a big family."
