Jackson County farmer Dale Allen directed $2,500 Jan. 28 to the La Ward 4-H Shooting Sports through America's Farmers Grow Communities to support the rifle club, which intends to purchase new equipment, such as guns and supplies. America's Farmers Grow Communities works directly with farmers to support nonprofit organizations doing important work in rural communities. The program offers farmers the chance to win $2,500, which is then donated to the farmer's nonprofit of choice.
