A Padre Island park ranger holds up a Kemp's ridley sea turtle hatchling for visitors to see up close during the sea turtle hatchling release at Padre Island National Seashore on Sunday. Sea turtle eggs are collected from their nests along the Texas coast and allowed to incubate at the Padre Island National Seashore incubation facility. Once they have reached a "frenzied" state the turtles are then released into the Gulf of Mexico.
