Twelve people were killed and 11 were injured when the white Ford F-250 extended-cab pick-up truck they were riding in crashed into a tree about 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 59 between Goliad and Berclair. The vehicle was moved from the site of impact and the top of the truck had to be cut away to retrieve the people trapped inside. Of the 12 that died, six were in the cab of the truck. Debris was scattered alongside U.S. Highway 59 between Goliad and Berclair Sunday evening after a white Ford F-250 crashed into a tree killing 12 and injuring 11. Of the twelve that were killed six were inside the cab of the truck and the other five were ejected from the vehicle. More then 40 people responded to a fatal one-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 59 between Goliad and Berclair Sunday evening. A white Ford F-250 extended-cab pick-up truck was travelling north on the highway when it is believed that the front right tire lost its tread causing the driver to lose control and crash into a tree killing 12 and injuring 11. Goliad County volunteer firefighters pick up debris on the side of U.S. Highway 59 between Goliad and Berclair from a one-vehicle wreck that occurred Sunday night leaving 12 dead and 11 hospitalized.
